Your Bet on Life.

Every morning, people receive newspaper with an article which has on the very first page about the many kinds of heroes who dedicated their lives for their nation and reputation. On the newspaper, young Christian missionaries who bravely went to Afghanistan to save the third world country are represented as the heroes. They’ve decided to choose the short and strengthened life. They’ve became a bright spark of a very short living star that fades away after its period of prosperity. The spark will be remembered and earn fame, but would that be the same choice if the soldiers who dedicated their lives were given the second time back in the past? How would you bet your life?

People have different tastes and wants for every subject. Therefore, we make different decisions and aims to satisfy our own individual targets. People have different opinions and ideas about “life,” but I think that everyone should consider long-term benefits and duration of the process when making wise decisions. Nietzsche, the same person who persisted duration rather than strength, also claimed that reality is always changing. If a decision or any choice that a person made could be loved and favored for a long period of time, when the reality is always changing, then that must be very valuable and meaningful. Something that satisfies the duration must involve constant effort, patience, and development in the process. These entire steps of the course will bring great men and absolutely would take advantages from the choice.

People usually make more than 500 decisions everyday. Some decisions are very challenging and require a lot of thought, emotion, and research. Sometimes we even regret after making decisions when the result is not satisfying as expected. However, we should always keep in mind to look further into our future, not the instant moments of pleasure and passion when making important decisions. Decisions only concerning strength might be impulsive and quickly decline after the big spark. Bet your life with concern.

  1. I'm interested in what you have to say about the longevity or our choices when placed in the context of an ever-changing world. Will the choices and our values remain relevant even as we grow older?
